It’s that time of the year where a million Christmas party invitations are dropping into your inbox. So, if you’re anything like us, you think perhaps it’s time to amp up the glitter factor or give yourself a well-deserved pamper before you run around buying presents and putting up Christmas trees. To make your life a little easier, we’ve collated the best of festive beauty and pampering options from around Edinburgh, just in time for you to squeeze in your appointments before the diaries are well and truly booked up for the season. From relaxing to glamming up, there’s something for everyone this year…
Make-up application at Debenhams
The thing about the humble beauty counter is that it’s a great way to try out a new look you may be shying away from before you dive into purchasing the products. From golden glitter eyes to dark berry lip, there’s lots to try out and explore for your Christmas party look. We recently popped along to Urban Decay at Debenhams’ festive shopping evening and it really opened our eyes to what’s available on-counter. Pop along to Debenhams on Princes Street this Christmas to try out the beautiful new Urban Decay Matte Revolution lipstick in ‘Blackmail’, which we watched their regional make-up artist Danielle Roberts work her magic with. A sultry pout awaits…!

Spa day at The Roxburghe Hotel
The Roxburghe’s Balance Spa & Beauty has a selection of spa day and break options to suit everyone. We at Every Edinburgh really like the sound of the classic Relax Spa Day – it’s definitely something we’d love to slot into a weekend to escape the hustle and bustle around town. Because, hey, as much as we love the Christmas Market, sometimes you just need to unwind and escape the madness! And er, fit in a cake or two from their afternoon tea menu… ahem.

Festive manicure at All About Eve
For all our glittery nail needs, we always look to All About Eve in Bruntsfield. With a big selection of glitters and bespoke designs to suit you, it really is the salon to look to for a polished Shellac manicure which lasts and lasts throughout the season. Certainly the Shellac manicure we’ve found to last the longest and provide the most options to play with over the years. Psst, we’ve already booked ourselves in for Christmas as we hear their diary is looking pretty full already!

Perfect brows at Zen Lifestyle
Zen Lifestyle’s famed HD Brow treatments really are worth a look. We were recently invited to their Bruntsfield salon – one of three central locations – to try out the treatment, and we’ve come away suitably impressed. Using a combination of waxing, tinting, threading and tweezing, Zen are experts at shaping your brows how you want. After all, one size brows do not fit all! From newbies to brow queens, they’re a great place to head for professional results. So, with the essential killer brows now sorted, we’re ready for all of those Christmas parties!

Pamper party at Chamomile Sanctuary
Chamomile Sanctuary pride themselves on being the ultimate city centre day spa, and we can vouch for that. Whether for a confidence-boosting body exfoliating wrap treatment or a good old fashioned deep tissue massage, they’re perfectly located near Princes Street in the West End to pop to after some heavy-duty Christmas shopping. They have a selection of packages on offer, and we love the sound of the Relax Package for groups of four or more – a lovely way to catch up with friends before going out! We recommend spending a while in their relaxation room afterwards to really maximise that feeling of calm.
